ASLA Celebrates Black History Month

ASLA celebrates Black History Month by recognizing the first African American ASLA President, Perry Howard. He served as president of the society from 2007 to 2008.

He has served in many capacities in North Carolina and Florida for ASLA including the 2008 President. He is the only African American that served in this position.

Howard received his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University and a Master of Landscape Architecture from The Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Also, he became a Fellow in the American Society of Landscape Architects in 1995.
